Exlar's newest product offering features the Tritex II DC powered unit, housing the servo drive, digital positioner and electric actuator all in one convenient package.  Tritex II actuators are the highest power density, smallest footprint servo drive devices on the market allowing you to incorporate a fully electronic solution in the space of your existing hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder.  You can also eliminate troublesome ball screw actuators or bulky servo gear reducers.  And the space previously consumed by panel mount servo drives and motion controllers is no longer needed.  Tritex II electric actuators may also reduce the size of your machine design while offering significant reliability improvement.

With forces to approximately 1,000 lbs (4kN) continuous and 1,300 lbs peak (6kN), and speeds to 33 in/sec (800 mm/sec), the DC Tritex II linear actuators  offer POWER - a benefit you won't get with other integrated units.  The DC powered Tritex II actuators contain a 750 W servo amplifier and a very capable motion controller.

The AC powered Tritex II actuators contain a 1.5 kW servo amplifier and a very capable motion controller. With standard features such as analog following for position, compound moves, move chaining and individual force/torque control for each move, the Tritex II Series is the ideal solution for most motion applications.

Tritex rotary motors and gearmotors provide high response and precise control of a rotatable shaft similar to that found in any electric motor. The difference is that with Tritex II you can program (via your PC) the rotational speed and position of the output shaft in response to external commands. For example, the motor can be commanded to rotate at a controlled velocity and precisely stop at a pre-programmed position upon receiving a command to do so. You can also program the unit to run at a preset velocity until a switch input is received or a pre-programmed torque level is produced (against a load). Alternatively, the rotary Tritex II can be set up to follow an analog signal, either voltage or current, representing torque, velocity, or position.

If the application requires greater torque and less speed than available with the base unit, the Tritex II is available with an integral servo grade planetary gear reducer. Gear ratios of 4:1 to 100:1 allow the power of Tritex II to be applied over a broad range of torque requirements.

GSX Series linear actuators combine the advantages of Exlar's rolller screw technology and T-LAM stator technology to create a powerful and robust linear solution. Exlar uses a specially designed roller screw mechanism for converting electric motor power into linear motion within the actuator. Planetary rollers assembled around the actuator's extending rod follow threads which are precisely machined on the inside surface of the actuator's hollow armature.

Linear motion is produced in precise synchronization with the armature rotation. Because this roller screw mechanism has an inherently larger cumulative contact surface, these actuators have a much longer working life, and can handle heavier loads at higher speeds than is possible from a similarly sized unit built around a ball screw system.

Integrated Force Sensing Option

Exlar offers its GSX30, 40, 50 and 60 model actuators with an integrated load cell for force measuring capability. This option offers a convenient method for obtaining electronic data relating to the force being applied by the actuator. The load cell is a strain gauge type, offering you stable and accurate load sensing in both the tension and compression directions, and for static or dynamic loads. The packaging of the strain gauges are integral to the actuator's housing, offering a compact, protected robust design.

The GSM Series offers a cost effective solution for less demanding applications. With Exlar’s standard capacity inverted roller screw technology, the GSM Series provides travel life 5 times that of similarly sized ball screws. Standard IP54 sealing makes the GSM actuator the ideal solution in place of ball screw actuators for a more compact, longer lasting solution for the same cost.

EL Series more EL Series - Linear Explosion-Proof Actuators

Exlar's EL Series actuators are rated for Class I, div 1, Groups B, C and D.  EL Series actuators offer significant advantages in situations where outside contaminants are an issue. All converting components are mounted within the sealed motor housing. With a simple bushing and seal arrangement on the smooth extending rod, abrasive particles or other contaminants are prevented from reaching the actuator's critical mechanisms. This assures trouble-free operation even in the most severe and demanding environments.

Exlar FT Series force tubes use a roller screw mounted inside a telescoping tube mechanism. The follower is attached to the moveable force tube, which then extends and retracts as the screw rotates. The FT Series is designed to be compatible with a wide variety of standard motors. Motor mounting and gearing configurations are available to meet nearly any application's requirements. The standard product offering includes three frame sizes with strokes from 12 to 96 inches and a load rating up to 40,000 lbf.

The FT Series force tubes provide high load capacity, high speed capabilities and exceptionally long life when compared to other actuator technologies, such as acme or ball screws.  The FT Series design has all the contamination-isolation advantages of hydraulic cylinders without the limited load, life, and speed of designs built around ball or acme screws. All converting components in the Exlar FT Series force tubes are mounted within the sealed housing. This prevents abrasive particles and other contaminants from entering the actuator's critical mechanisms, and assures trouble-free operation even in the most severe environments.

K Series Electric Linear Actuators

The K Series actuators from Exlar provide a truly universal solution for rod style actuator applications.  Now available in 60 and 90 mm frame sizes, this series offers the option of two grades of planetary roller screws along with an option for an ACME screw.  These multiple grades of screw type allow you to select the configuration best suited to your application and budget.

K Series more The K Series provides an ideal replacement for pneumatic cylinders, with dimensions and form factor consistent with ISO Metric pneumatic cylinder specifications.
Three product performance levels are available so you can choose which option best suits your application and budgetary requirements.

KX Series provides a high performance planetary roller screw for performance far superior to competing actuator technologies.  The KX is an ideal choice for demanding applications in industrial automation, mobile equipment, process control and others.

KM Series actuators employ a lower cost planetary roller screw design suited for applications that do not require the long life offered in the KX Series.  This option still provides twice the life of similarly sized ball screw actuators along with the efficiency and resistance to shock associated with roller screws.

KA Series actuators are constructed with an ACME screw for low duty cycle applications with 2.54 mm and 5.08 mm leads.  The KA Series can provide non-back driving solutions with a 2.54 mm lead.  The KA Series is an excellent choice for applications that position and hold a load, or need effective low duty cycle electro-mechanical motion.
